The Commission Process

COMMISSIONING A CUSTOM FIBRE ART PIECE IS A THOUGHTFUL AND COLLABORATIVE PROCESS, DESIGNED TO ENSURE THE FINAL ARTWORK FEELS ALIGNED WITH YOUR SPACE, STYLE AND THE FEELING YOU WANT TO CREATE. WHILE INSPIRATION IMAGES AND PAST WORKS CAN HELP GUIDE THE DIRECTION, EVERY PIECE IS INTERPRETED TROUGH MY OWN ARTISTIC VISION. I DO NOT REPLICATE ANOTHER ARTIST'S WORK OR COPY SPECIFIC DESIGNS, BUT INSTEAD CREATE AN ORIGINAL ARTWORK THAT FEELS TRUE TO BOTH YOUR SPACE AND MY PRACTICE.

Step 1: Initial Enquiry

Begin by getting in touch with a few details about your space, the type of fibre artwork you are looking for, and any ideas or inspiration you already have in mind. Helpful details may include dimensions, room type, colours, reference images, and whether the piece is for a residential or commercial interior.

Step 2:Consultation

From there, we discuss your space, your vision, and the role the artwork will play within the interior. This stage helps shape the brief and ensures the final custom fibre art piece feels connected to both the space and the atmosphere you want to create.

Step 3: Concept & Proposal

Once the brief is clear, I prepare a tailored proposal that may include concept direction, materials, sizing, timeline, and pricing. This gives you a clear understanding of the artwork before creation begins.

Step 4: Deposit & Booking

To secure your commission and confirm your place in my schedule, a 50% deposit is required. Once the deposit has been received, your custom fibre art piece is booked in and the creation process can begin.

Step 5: Creation

Your artwork is then created by hand using carefully selected fibres and materials. Throughout the making process, attention is given to texture, form, scale, and finish so the final piece feels balanced, refined, and deeply connected to the space it is being made for.

Step 6: Completion & Final Payment

Once the artwork is complete, the remaining balance is due prior to delivery or collection. Your piece is then carefully prepared for transport to ensure it arrives safely and beautifully presented.

Step 7: Delivery / Installation

Depending on the project location and scale, delivery or installation can be arranged. This helps ensure the artwork is presented with care and sits confidently within the space.
