Threads of Connection: A New Chapter in My Practice
Something shifted for me after my solo show during Melbourne Design Week. Sharing that body of work — so personal, so raw — opened conversations I wasn’t expecting. People told me they saw themselves in the knots, the forms, the shadows. They felt their own stories reflected back.
It reminded me of something I’ve always believed but hadn’t yet acted on: making is powerful. It heals, it connects, it brings things to the surface you didn’t even know were waiting.
That’s why I’m starting something new.
A Space to Make, Reflect, Connect
Each month, I’ll be hosting a workshop in Collingwood at the beautiful Into Coffee. Think of it as an invitation: to pause, to put your hands into fibre, and to see what comes up when you give yourself time and space.
We’ll start with my signature free-flowing knotting — the double half hitch (looping). It’s just one simple knot, but it holds infinite possibilities. No rules, no rigid patterns, just an open path for you to create what’s in your heart and let it emerge naturally.
It’s Not About Perfect Objects
What matters most isn’t the final piece — it’s the process. The repetition of knots becomes a meditation. The fibres hold what you’re ready to release. The forms that appear often mirror things you’re only just realising about yourself.
These workshops are about…
✨ Giving yourself space
✨ Discovering insights through making
✨ Connecting with others, gently and openly
Come Join Me
Collingwood has always been a hub of creativity, and I can’t wait to gather in such a vibrant space. My hope is that these monthly sessions grow into a community — a place where art, reflection, and connection come together.
If this resonates, stay in the "loop" and sign up here - be the first to hear when bookings open.
And if you’d like to know more about me and my practice, you can read my story on the website.
