You know that feeling when everything is perfectly planned—until it suddenly isn’t? That was me a few weeks ago, deep in the final stretch of preparing for Melbourne Design Week. I had my exhibition space booked, my work coming together, and everything lined up. Then, out of nowhere, the venue fell through. Just like that.
Panic? Oh yeah. Stress? Absolutely. But also… something else.
Because as much as I wanted to fight against the change, a little voice in my head kept whispering, Trust this. Something better is coming.
And then it did.
Through an unexpected turn of events, I found myself re-connected with M+Co Living—an incredible interior design showroom in Melbourne. It’s a space that celebrates thoughtful design, creativity, and collaboration, and suddenly, I knew: this is where my exhibition is meant to be.
And honestly? Now that I look back, I can’t imagine it any other way.
Threads of Connection (to Self): A Fibre Art Experience
This exhibition has always been about more than fibre art. It’s about transformation, resilience, and the quiet power of making. The way fibre—soft yet strong, delicate yet resilient—mirrors our own experiences of growth and change.
Through large-scale, hand-crafted installations, Threads of Connection (to Self) explores the moments of uncertainty, healing, and clarity that shape us.
But this isn’t just an exhibition—it’s an experience.
- Watch Me Work – I’ll be demonstrating my fibre art process live, showing how repetition, touch, and texture all play a role in my creations.
- Co-Create With Me – Visitors will be invited to take part in a collaborative fibre installation. It’s a reminder that creativity isn’t just personal—it’s communal.
The Perfect Space for Connection
Looking back, I realise that losing my original venue was just part of the journey—one that led me to a space that truly aligns with the heart of this exhibition. M+Co Living isn’t just a showroom; it’s a place that fosters meaningful design, artistic expression, and collaboration. The perfect backdrop for Threads of Connection (to Self).
Sometimes, when things don’t go to plan, it’s because there’s something even better waiting for us. And this? This is exactly where I’m meant to be.
I’d love for you to experience this journey with me.
