Threads of Connection Workshops

Creativity |Healing |Self-discovery |

There are moments in life when we crave something deeper — something that helps us reconnect with ourselves, make sense of our stories, and simply pause long enough to feel.

That’s why I created Threads of Connection Workshops.

Through the simple yet profound act of working with fibre, we open a space for reflection, growth, and healing. These gatherings aren’t about “perfect results” or following strict steps. Instead, they’re about exploring, unravelling, and creating something that feels true to you.

Location: Into Coffee, Collingwood, Melbourne

Date: 28 September, Sunday | 1.30-5.30

Life moves fast. It’s easy to lose touch with our creativity, our inner voice, and even each other.

  • Maybe you feel the pull to create but don’t know where to start.

  • Maybe you’re craving connection — to yourself, to others, to something deeper.

  • Maybe you just need space to pause, breathe, and make with your hands.

The truth? Without that space, we stay caught in cycles of stress, disconnection, and self-doubt.

Kasia Dudkiewicz from knotted by hand - textile and fibre artist

It doesn’t have to be this way.

Creativity is one of the most powerful tools we have for healing and self-discovery. Through fibre art, you won’t just create something beautiful — you’ll uncover insights, release old stories, and reconnect with yourself in ways you didn’t expect.

Kasia, the artist knotted by hand sitting in front of her work, a sculptural fibre wall art.

Hi, I’m Kasia DUDKIEWICZ

I’m a contemporary textile artist working with fibre — exploring its form, tactility, and potential for transformation. My practice is about more than creating objects; it’s about storytelling, connection, and pushing material beyond its limits to reflect the human experience.

The idea for these workshops was born from my solo exhibition Threads of Connection to Self during Melbourne Design Week. That body of work marked a deeply personal journey — but what moved me most was how many visitors recognised their own stories within it.

It affirmed what I always knew: that the act of making is profoundly healing, and fibre art holds a unique power to bring us back to ourselves.

Now, I invite you into that same space of creation, reflection, and connection.

  • As someone who already works with macramé, I was blown away by Kasia’s free-flowing approach. It completely shifted the way I think about knotting — from something rigid and pattern-driven, to something deeply intuitive. Her method reminded me that fibre is alive, and that making can be as much about self-discovery as it is about technique.”

  • The show wasn’t just art on the walls — it was a conversation. Each piece carried a sense of history, healing, and becoming. I left with goosebumps, realising I’d just witnessed someone else’s story and somehow also my own.

  • When I first heard about Kasia’s workshops, I felt this instant pull. The idea of combining fibre art with reflection and healing just resonated so deeply. I couldn’t wait to be part of it — to step into that space of creativity and connection. It felt like exactly what I’d been looking for.
