Hand-knotted sculptural textile
94 × 57 × 10 cm
Wounded Healer is an original sculptural textile artwork by Melbourne-based contemporary fibre artist Kasia Dudkiewicz.
Created slowly by hand through thousands of individual knots, the work combines rich red fibre with unexpected traces of pale blue, building a deeply tactile surface of repetition, rhythm and irregularity.
The work grew from Kasia’s experience of migration and her evolving relationship with Australia — a country that has become home. At its heart is the idea that a place can carry its own wounds while still becoming a place of healing for someone else.
This is the starting point rather than a fixed interpretation. Wounded Healer is intended to leave space for the viewer’s own memories, associations and emotional response to the work.
Its sculptural depth allows light and shadow to shift across the surface throughout the day, giving the piece a changing presence within an interior.

At Knotted by Hand workshops, we aim to provide an exceptional learning experience while accommodating our attendees' needs. Our standard policy entails no refunds for cancellations; however, we understand that life can be unpredictable. Therefore, we offer flexibility within certain parameters.
Attendees who find themselves unable to attend a workshop can transfer their registration to another person. This allows you to gift your spot to a friend or family member who can benefit from the workshop in your absence. We kindly ask that you notify us at least 48 hours before the workshop to facilitate this transfer.
Additionally, in situations where unforeseen circumstances arise, registrants can request credit toward a future workshop instead of a refund. This credit ensures that the value of the workshop fee can be applied to a future session, subject to availability and scheduling.
Our aim is to balance our commitment to providing quality workshops with understanding the occasional need for flexibility. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines, allowing us to best serve all our attendees.
